Glissade: Mount Persis-May 1974

We bushwhacked and gained most of the elevation during the first mile. It was cold and gloomy. Finally, we stopped for lunch and I could feel the sweat on my back chill.

John was trailing everyone. The Stones' lyrics popped into my head again.
We would take turns at the front and then step aside to let the next person lead the way through the snow. Then we would get back in line and follow the steps.

I like this photo.

Greg and Rob were leaving wands along the trail in case the fog turned to a whiteout condition.

I don't recall who this person is.

Liz and Mary Lou wonder how cold it is. They appear to be frozen in place.

Lunch break on top of Mt. Persis.
